CAMBIO
Cambio posts are produced from Auspine tree farms. Branches are removed leaving a natural finish including the bark and outer "cambio" layer of the tree. Where minimum handlnig is involved Auspine cambio finish posts are ideally suited for use in Australian agriculture and wine producing regions.
Depending on which preservation process is undertaken cambio (rough finish) posts provide maximum protection against the elements.
|
PEELED
Peeled posts and poles have all branches, knot ends, bark and outer cambio layer removed providing a smooth uniform service for ease of handling. As the post or pole diameter increases so does the strength factor and when preservative treated is ideally suited to many applications

PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT
Permapine manufactures timber products (decking, framing etc) are kiln dried and round post material is air or steamed dried. The timber is then transefused with differing levels of either CCA Permapine (green) under pressure or CREOSOTE (black/brown) absorbed preservatives depending on end user application. After treatment, products are either air or kiln dried once again depending on end user application
Both preservative treatment processes are continually being refined to:
- increase product longevity
- provide ease of handling

VINEYARD TRELLISING
As in the case with rural end-users, it is a question of individual choice whether C.C.A permapine (green) or creosote (black/brown) posts ion either cambio or peeled finish are utilised in Australian vineyards. However, plantation grown Auspine posts remain a firm favourite among vignerons because of the consistent high standard of preservative penetration, and product availability.
Because wood is a non-conductor of electricity, vineyard owners can enjoy peace of mind in the event of a lighting strike, where vine damage is only ever minimal because the stike is localised.
